Meet Our Team
Matt Snowdon
For Matt Snowdon, golf has always been the great equalizer. Despite having diagnoses of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Matt has competed in golf tournaments with neurotypical peers for most of his life, including tournaments with US Kids, the AJGA and the mid-Atlantic PGA.
Matt is the 2024 Maryland State Special Olympics Golf Champion. In 2025 he earned his WR4GD eligibility pass, which enables him to play in any US or International Adaptive Open in the category of Intellectual Impairment. Matt posted a first place finish in the 2025 I Got This Championship in Phoenix. He also won his division (GS-15 Intellectual Disability) at both the Chicago Adaptive Open and the Golf Association of Philadelphia (GAP) Adaptive Open. He currently plays to a 7 handicap.
Matt played varsity golf for his home high school in Maryland (Severna Park High School), leading the team to the county championship three consecutive times, each time earning first team all-county honors. Matt advanced to the Maryland State Public High School Golf Championship three times, including one top 40 finish.
When he’s not golfing, you can find Matt on the pickleball court, at the bowling alley, shooting pool or shooting hoops. In his hometown of Annapolis, Maryland, Matt enjoys riding his bike to the neighborhood pool and boating on the Chesapeake Bay.
Matt is grateful to the Flutie Foundation for creating a great competitive forum for golfers like him. Best of all, he is enjoying the new friendships he is making with the other STARS of the Spectrum players.
