Peter Condon

Peter Condon is 30 years old and lives in Spokane, WA.  He was diagnosed with the congenital disorder Cornelia de Lange syndrome* at the age of two.  Many thought he would not speak more than a few words or be able to function in groups.  Peters’ perseverance and drive has proven that incorrect.

Peter’s love of sport and golf began when he was very young.   He went out for the high school golf team and played all four years, even qualifying for the Washington State High school golf competition in 2014 which was played at Chambers Bay, home of the 2015 PGA US Open.  Peter has been involved with Special Olympics golf for many years, earning a spot at the 2018 and the 2022 Special Olympics USA Games, taking silver and bronze respectively.

Peter is grateful to participate in the Doug Flutie Jr Foundation Stars of the Spectrum Golf League. The sport of golf has provided many opportunities and great enjoyment.  Peter hopes to pass that love along to help grow the league, improve his game, and promote golf as a lifelong sport for individuals with and without disabilities.

Peter works on the grounds crew at Latah Creek Golf Course in Spokane WA.  He is currently in his 10th season there.

*Cornelia de Lange syndrome (CdLS) is a rare genetic disorder present from birth, but not always diagnosed at birth. It causes a range of physical, cognitive, and medical challenges.  It is often accompanied by autism spectrum characteristics.
